Studify is live on studify.today with General English for B1, B1+ and B2. A new learner starts with a free assessment of about 15 minutes, gets placed in the programme and then studies in 20-minute lessons. Lessons come in pairs that share one task, so the second time round you say the same thing with more language. Twice in each half of a part a checkpoint conversation takes the help away, and what you say without prompting is what counts as learned. In October the teacher got a name and a page of her own, Ellie, so you can meet her before the first lesson.
Problem
A lot of adults read, watch and understand English, then freeze when a manager on a call asks them to walk through the numbers. The understanding is already there. What's missing is speaking time, hundreds of turns out loud with someone who catches the mistakes you keep making and brings them back until they stop. Apps train recognition, which is already the strong part. Twice a week with a human teacher is expensive and hard to fit around work, and a chatbot will happily chat but has no programme, lets you coast and forgets you by the next session.
Solution
Studify puts you on a video call with Ellie, an AI English teacher, for 20 minutes at a time. She hears you, answers right away and keeps her own turns to a sentence or three, so most of the lesson is you speaking. Talk over her and she stops to listen. All it takes is a browser and a microphone, at any hour. Behind the call is a full General English programme of 216 lessons in 12 parts, covering B1, B1+ and B2. Each pair of lessons is built around one real situation, from telling a story to disagreeing politely at work. The first lesson of a pair gives you the language, the second puts you through the same task again with more of it, which is where grammar turns into speech. Ellie builds her examples out of what you just said and gives you the first few words so you finish the sentence yourself. New forms and exercises go up on a board next to her. Pronunciation is scored on the lesson's own phrases, and you see which sound let you down. Studify remembers you. The next lesson opens with the language of the last one, and the mistakes you keep making are woven into exercises on new topics, so you fix them along the way without the lesson turning into a drill. Checkpoint conversations take the help away and show what stuck. Every lesson ends with a written report you keep. The first lesson is a free 15-minute assessment that sets your level on five sides of speaking and places you in the programme.
